Louise Owens Taylor went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2024. She was born April 15, 1928 to Willie Parker Davis, Sr and Effie Xuripha Wilkes Davis in Pike County, Alabama. Louise was passionate about her yard and found great joy in gardening and her butterfly bushes. She enjoyed her daily walks in her gardens maintaining the grape vines, blueberry bushes, pear trees, and persimmons. There was nothing that her green thumb could not grow. Louise spent over 50 years in the nursing field caring for others in their time of need. She began her career with Dr. Cheshire, then worked at Southwestern State Hospital, and ended her career as a hospice nurse. Louise was married to Henry Owens for 65 years. They were devout members of Dawson Street Baptist Church and enjoyed their church family and many travels with the senior group. Following Henry's death she married Billy Taylor. They provided each other with great companionship for 10 years before his passing. Louise was predeceased by her son Eric Owens. She enjoyed her time with Eric talking about birds, trees, plants, and how to keep squirrels out of her bird feeder. Following Eric's illness, Louise moved to Marietta, Georgia. She spent her last few months enjoying spa days of getting her nails done, her hair rolled, and make-up with her daughter Beverly Brown. She enjoyed frequent phone chats with her daughter in love, Nancy Owens. Other survivors include her sisters Ophelia Ross and Lucille Windham, daughter Valerie Coley(David), grandchildren Michaelyn Christensen(Trevor), TJ Owens(Sandra), Erin Tracy(Dylan), Brian Trance, Sam Trance(Danielle), Ashley Childs, Tyler Coley, and Whitney McDonald(Seth). She also has 14 great grandchildren. The family will receive guests at a graveside service Saturday, August 10 at 11:00 at Sunset Memorial Garden. The family
suggests memorial contributions be sent to your local hospice organization.
