Louise Rackley Petiprin

Louise Rackley Petiprin, 104, passed away on January 8, 2023. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in Mitchell County, Ga to the late Elias J. and Hortense G. Rackley on February 7, 1918. Mrs. Petiprin is predeceased by her husbands E. Ray Mooney and Floyd R. "Pete" Petiprin, siblings Evelyn R. Eidson, Mildred R. Stewart, Catherine R. Sanders, J. Rodolph Rackley, and niece Rebecca S. Wasner. Survivors include niece, June S. Duke of Cary, NC, and nephews Hollis S. Sanders, Jr. (Judy) of Camilla, Ga, M. Jefferson Sanders of Thomasville, Ga, and S. Alan Sanders (Becky) of Thomasville, Ga, and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a civil servant at the Pentagon in the Navy Department. Upon her retirement, she and her husband, Ray Mooney, moved to Winter Park, Florida. She moved to Southern Pines in Thomasville, Georgia in September 2020. Mrs. Petiprin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winter Park, Florida.
