Funeral services for Loyal Palmer, Jr., 67, of Thomasville will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. The Rev. Brent Welch will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Palmer died March 17, 2007 at Glen-Mor Nursing Home. Born November 14, 1939 in Thomas County he was the son of the late Loyal Palmer, Sr. and Gladys Lindsey Palmer. Mr. Palmer was married to the late Lorraine Simpson Palmer, who died on April 23, 2002, and later married Betty Hurst Palmer of Pelham, who survives. He was an auto mechanic and served in the United Stated Air Force. Survivors include a wife, Betty Hurst Palmer of Pelham; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Katie Palmer of Ochlocknee; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Greg Mirick of Thomasville; a son, Timothy Darrell Palmer of Cairo; Grandchildren, Keith and Josh Mirick, Megan and Chelsea Palmer and Alisha Palmer. Other survivors include two sisters, Linda Miller of Albany and Patsy Palmer of Moultrie; and two brothers, Allen Palmer of Americus and Larry Palmer of Atlanta. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Darrell Palmer and a brother, Johnny Wayne Palmer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM Monday.
