Services for Lucille Nellie Gainous Slappey, 95, of Ochlocknee are at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Parkway Church of God. The Rev. Richard Dobson will officiate and interment is in Ochlocknee City Cemetery. Mrs. Slappey died October 31, 2007 at her residence. Born July 31, 1912, in Grady County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Julie Mae Griffin Gainous. In December of 1928, she married James Odell Slappey, who preceded her in death on November 2, 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of Ochlocknee Church of God. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Odell and Jean Slappey of Quincy, Fla. and James Ervin and Gertrude Slappey of Ochlocknee; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Jean and Shafter Lamar Johnson of Chipley, Fla. and Stella Frances and Richard Neely Pritchard of McKees Rock, Penn.; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren.
