Services for Mabel Carroll Simpson, 80 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 16, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Ben Smith will officiate and interment will be in Bethany Cemetery. Mrs. Simpson passed away December 12 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born May 24, 1933 in Pebble City, Ga, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Carroll and Naomi Harrell Carroll. She was a devoted wife to Jerry Douglas Simpson, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1990. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As mother of a large family she made each of her children feel loved and special. Blessings of her love and devotion to family carried them through good as well as hard times. She will be remembered for her great love of Christ and her faith. She is survived by her children, Homer E. Simpson of Cairo, Debra N Kennedy of Leesburg, FL, Jerry D. Simpson, Jr of Donalsonville, Dennice L. Dinkins, Vance S. Simpson, Arthur H. Simpson all of Thomasville, James Darrell Simpson of Old Hickory, TN and Frank DeWayne Simpson of Cairo; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Hinds of Inman, S.C. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandchildren, Spc. Shannon Chihuahua and Christina Chihuahua Smith, brothers, Joseph Carroll, Gordon Carroll and William J. Carroll. The family will receive friends 4-6 pm, Sunday, December 15 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
