Services for Mack E. Luke, 89 of Thomasville will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 14, 2021 at New Growth Baptist Church. Pastor Chris Hall will officiate and interment will follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Luke passed away March 12, 2021 at his residence. Born March 28, 1931 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Daniel Elder Luke and Mary Annie Stanaland Luke. On December 25, 1953, he married Mary Dorothy (Dot) Blankenship, who preceded him in death in 2010 after 57 years of marriage. He then married Nannette Luke on March 3, 2012, who survives. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne and loved his country. He was a vocational pastor and started his ministry in Sydney, Florida at Sydney Baptist Church in 1969 and ended it at New Growth Baptist Church as the founding pastor, pastoring several local churches in the area in-between. He has touched so many lives throughout his ministry and is loved by many and will be greatly missed. He also had a land clearing, pond building business for many years and loved working his cattle and horses on his farm. He is survived by his wife, Nannette Luke of Thomasville; children, Danny Luke & wife Machelle of Thomasville and Mary Lou Luke Tonkin and husband Mike of Ochlocknee, Amy Willauer of Thomasville; grandchildren, Cole Tonkin of Ochlocknee, Jacob Luke of Tampa, Florida, Stephanie Luke of Durant, Florida and Daniel Luke of Ochlocknee; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Tonkin, Luke Tonkin and Gabriel Willauer; sisters, Betty Joiner of Perry Florida, Julia Wyrick and husband Jim of Dolphin Island, Ala and Juanita Cooley and husband Will of Thomasville; daughter-in-law, Elaine Luke, Turkey Creek, Florida and aunt, Ophelia Alligood of Meigs and numerous special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Luke; siblings, Alphie Barron, Raymond Luke, Jessie Luke, Laverne Gay, S.D. Luke and James Luke.
