Mae Plummer Berry Newsome

Funeral services for Mae Plummer Berry Newsome, 94 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Milledgeville. Mrs. Newsome passed away August 23, 2015 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 23, 1921 in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Plummer and Naomi Barrington Plummer. She was preceded in death by husband Rev. Bill Berry, grandson, Ryan and several brothers and sisters. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the Young at Heart Choir and in Sunday School. She was very active and supportive of her late husband Bill’s ministry and she had a lifetime commitment to her church and family. Survivors include her husband Homer Lee Newsome of Thomasville; her children, Tom Berry and wife Debra Underwood of Thomasville, Rick Berry and wife Brenda of Tifton, and Gail Hamrick and husband Jim of Benson, North Carolina; step-children, Dan Newsome and wife Dawn and Carol Newsome; grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Ben, Beth, Abby, Carrie and Lizz; great-grandchild Marlo; sister, Edna Yeakle of Bloomingdale, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2790, Thomasville, Ga 31799. The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday before the service at the church chapel.
