Mallie Lucile Dupre Monk

Funeral services for Mallie Lucile DuPre Monk, 86, of Thomasville will be on Sunday, at 3:00 PM at Glad Tidings Assembly. Pastor Brent Welch and Rev. Bob Dixon will officiate and internment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Monk died in Thomasville on April 4, 2013 at Camellia Gardens of Life Care. Born March 25, 1927 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Reid and Mallie Rigsby DuPre. She was married to the late Robert C. Bobby Monk, Sr. Mrs. Monk was a member of First United Methodist Church and was employed for twenty five years as a bookkeeper for Interstate Enterprises Theaters and later retired as a bookkeeper for the law firm of Alexander and Vann. Survivors include a son and a daughter in law, Clint and Debbie Riggs Monk and daughter and son in law, Donna Monk Croft and Danny R. Croft. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevin Monk and his finance, Lindsey Johnson, Josh Monk, Tyler Croft and Danielle Croft Pitts and great grandchildren Dallas and Bristol Pitts. Other survivors include a sister, Helen Turner of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Monk was preceded in death by a son, Darren Reid Monk, sisters Janet Parramore, Virginia Gillion, Jane Tatro, a brother Oliver Reid DuPre, III and a sister in law, Jean DuPre. The family would like to thank the staff of Camellia Gardens of Life Care for the wonderful care they provided for Mrs. Monk.
