Services for Marcus Mo Owen Shierling, Jr., 80, of Thomasville are 10:00 am, Friday, October 30, 2009 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Joe Easterling will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Shierling died October 27 at his residence. Born June 8, 1929 in Lowndes County, he was the son of the late Marcus Owen Shierling Sr. and Lou Ellen Rouse Shierling. On August 28, 1955 he married Bonnie Jean Jones Shierling, who preceded him in death. Mr. Shierling was a carpenter and a member of Christ Community Presbyterian Church. Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Doug & Tammy Shierling of Palm Harbor, Fl., Mike & Lisa Shierling of Bristol, Fl., Rick & Terri Shierling of Valdosts and Steve & Tami Shierling of Dixie; grandchildren, Julia Shierling, Jason Shierling, Elizabeth Shierling, Sara Shierling and Drake Shierling. He was preceded in death by sisters, Velora Simpson, Annie Lou Starling, Hortense Moore and brother, Leroy Shierling.
