Graveside services for Margaret Cox Brown, 82, of Thomasville will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Laurel Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Weyman Cleveland and Dr. Robert Rivers officiating. Mrs. Brown died December 19, 2007 at her residence. Born October 12, 1925 in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Fannie Lilly and J.E. Cox. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and taught physical education in Plant City, FL. On August 9, 1952, she married Alexander Young Brown of Quitman, GA. In 1961, the family moved from Atlanta to Thomasville where she was a teaching assistant at Jerger Elementary School, a pink lady with Archbold Auxiliary, Blood Mobile Volunteer and a member of First Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her giving and caring nature that extended beyond her family to her many friends and loved-ones. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Peggie Brown and Tony Abbott of Atlanta, Frances and Tom Wechsler of Decatur, and son and daughter-in-law Young and Barbara Brown, Jr. of Statesboro, grandchildren Alex, Peter, Nick, and Krissy Wechsler, Alexander and Sarah Elizabeth Brown, and Allie and Katie Abbott, nieces Majel Rivers of Dyer, IN, and Evelyn Strickland of Toccoa, GA. She was preceded in death by sisters Inez Spears, Evelyn Russell and brother, J.E.
