Margaret Woods Hart

Services for Margaret Woods Hart, age 88, will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 11:00am, at First Newark Baptist Church with a visitation an hour prior. Margaret passed away on July 11, 2022 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 15, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Ga., to Marcus Woods and Nora (Smith) Woods-Cooper. On December 27 1952, Margaret was married to James Marvin Hart, who preceded her in death. She was a member of First Newark Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed sewing and line dancing. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Margaret is survived by her sons James Howell Hart (Janice) of Pavo and James Herbert Hart (Melissa) of Cairo; daughter Patricia Hart Smith (Rex) of Ochlocknee; grandchildren Jonathan Hart, Shawn Hart, Melita Hart, Rex Smith Jr., and Tina Lane; great-grandchildren Keyton Smith, Kaleb Smith, Aubrey Benford, Trey Hart, Quincey Hart, Isabelle Hart; and great-great-grandchildren Mackenzie Gray and Gage Hart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Nora; husband James Marvin Hart; brother Albert Woods; and sisters Elizabeth Woods Graham and Barbara Donaldson; and great-grandchild Mika Snipes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Newark Baptist Church, 225 Russell Rd, Thomasville, GA 31757, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
