Margaret Jeanette Lasseter, 79, of Thomasville, Ga passed away August 23, 2022, at her residence, under the care of Hospice of Southwest Georgia. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00AM at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Interment will be at 2 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery of Adel, Ga. She was born March 7, 1943, to the late Caulie and Ruth Bennett in Adel, Ga. She married Merrell Lasseter on May 10, 1985, in Ocean Springs, MS, who survives. Mrs. Lasseter was a Marketing Director of Valdosta Mall and moved to Gautier, MS where she was then the Marketing Director of Singing River Mall. She also was the Main Street Director for Thomasville, Ga, Public Relations Director of Thomas University. She then opened her own Real Estate Agency, Lasseter Realty, where she worked until retirement. Mrs. Lasseter graduated from Cook County High School in 1960. She also graduated from Valdosta State College in 1984, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Public Relations. Mrs. Jeanette had been a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville for 35 years and was a longtime member of the Adult Sunday School class at FBC. Jeanette served on the church Strategic Planning Committee and Welcoming Committee. Jeanette was also an auxiliary member of the Gideon's International. She loved all things artistic and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She also loved to travel and in her younger years she lived in many places including California, Arizona, and New York. She is survived by her children Stacey Register Shumans (Micheal) of Baxley, Ga, Robin Lasseter Fink (Chris) of Walden, NY, Jonathan R. Lasseter of Valdosta, Ga, Felton Merrell Lasseter Jr. (Chip) of Dallas, TX, Robert Matthew Lasseter of Morven, Ga; grandchildren Trace Shumans, Maggie Shumans, Baylie Shumans, Addy Fink, Margot Fink, Jonathan Richard Lasseter II, Hannah Morgan Lasseter, Matthew Tyler Lasseter; Great-grandchildren Jonathan Richard Lasseter III and Marshall Kain Tedrick; Siblings Betty Jo (BJ) Brogdon, Larry Bennett, Randy Bennett (Leah); sister and brother in law Bob and Linda Weaver, sister in laws Hazel Bennett and Miriam Bennett. She is preceded in death by her parents Caulie and Ruth Bennett, sister Dot Bennett, brothers Bill Bennett and Wilbur Bennett. A visitation will be held from 10AM-11AM prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lasseter II, Matthew Lasseter, Scott Bennett, Doug Bennett, Mike Bennett, Chris Brogdon, Slade Brogdon, and Bobby Bennett.
