Margaret Register

July 11, 1938 — August 3, 2025

Margaret Louise Connard Register, age 86, of Thomasville, GA, passed away on August 3, 2025. Born on July 11, 1938, in Khanawa County, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Adolph Haven Connard and Louise Mae Bowles Connard.

Margaret's life was beautifully intertwined with love and devotion. She married her soul mate, Billy Register, on July 26, 1958, in Boston, GA, and together they celebrated over 60 years of a loving marriage before his passing. A devoted member of East Side Baptist Church in Thomasville, she was also a cherished Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years, imparting her faith and values to countless children. Professionally, Margaret dedicated many years to nurturing young minds and hearts as part of the cafeteria staff at Busy Bear Pre-K, a role that she truly enjoyed and where she deepened her connection with the children. After her time at Busy Bear, she dedicated over 30 years in the cafeteria with the Thomasville City School System and Vashti before retiring.

Margaret had a passion for cooking and was renowned for her delicious desserts that she loved sharing with her friends and family. Her heart was especially warm for her grandchild, Haven, whom she adored and cared for since birth.

Survivors include her daughter, Billie Jo Beverly (Phillip); grandchildren, Haven Connard Beverly and Drew Beverly; great-grandchild, Jack Beverly; brother Lloyd Connard; sister-in-law Dena Gay Connard; her bonus “extra” kids Alaina Sherrod Tomlinson, Shane Clark, Julie Carson, Kristen Gay, and Carrie Ellen Godwin; special nephews Perry Connard (Joni), Mark Connard (Nancy), and Jimmy Edwards III (Staci).

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Billy Register, sister Dianna Faye Edward, brothers David Lynn Connard and Adolph Connard, niece Dena Edwards Rollins and parents Adolph Haven Connard and Louise Mae Connard.

Margaret’s family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses with hospice, Gwen Waters, Jennifer Brown, Tangelia Mitchell, Lexie Bryan, and Ashley Paracca for the love and care given to “Ma” for years.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:30-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at East Side Baptist Church at 11 am.
