Margaret L. Ridolfi

April 6, 1925 — November 30, 2023

Margaret Pullen Ridolfi, a longtime Thomasville, GA resident, passed away on November 30, 2023 at the age of 98. A memorial service shall take place at Thomasville Church of Christ, 711 E. Pinetree Blvd., Thomasville, GA at 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023

Margaret was born on April 6, 1925 in Tallahassee, FL to Charles Eugene Pullen, Sr. and Lula Ethel (Moncrief) Pullen at the historic Clock House building where the family resided. From early childhood, the family lived on a farm in southeastern Thomas County, GA and, intermittently for several years, in Floyd County, GA. While in her teens, Margaret joined her father Gene Pullen, a resident woodcarver at Pebble Hill Plantation, and began working for Elisabeth "Pansy" Ireland as her personal secretary. Margaret, or "Marge" as she was later called, met her future husband, Louis "Lou" Ridolfi at the Naval Base in Pensacola, FL. They were married on October 31, 1946 in Maryland and made their home in Branchville, CT, a suburb of Ridgefield, where they raised three children and operated a family-owned restaurant business. In 1967, after studying the Scriptures with a preacher and his wife, David & Paula Tarbet, the Ridolfi family became Christians and worshipped with the Danbury Church of Christ in Danbury, CT.

In the early 1970's after their youngest daughter Susan graduated from high school and desiring to keep a promise to his wife, Lou and Marge moved South, residing for a time in Sarasota, FL, then migrating to Thomasville, GA in 1975, following an offering of employment to both of them at Pebble Hill Plantation by Ms. Pansy (Ireland) Poe, which they accepted. They worked for Ms. Pansy until her death in December 1978. In the years following, Lou was employed as a carpenter for the Thomasville City Schools; working alongside his son Larry. Later, Lou & Marge owned and operated the Thomasville Frame Shop, which they thoroughly enjoyed. During this time, Marge also spent hours painting artwork for family and friends.

Through the years, Marge and Lou remained faithful to the Church and were an encouragement to many souls. When meeting strangers, Marge would often begin her conversations with others about the Church that Jesus built. She read the Bible daily. An accomplished artist and an author ("A History in the Life of GENE PULLEN, Backwoods Artist & Wood Carver of Thomas County, Georgia and Pebble Hill Plantation"), Marge always enjoyed time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to reaching age 96, Marge devoted herself to writing notes of encouragement to family, church members and friends while in her nursing home setting. Marge was a member of the local Church of Christ in Thomasville and at Moultrie Road. A civic duty that she cherished was her membership at the Thomasville Garden Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Charles Eugene "C.E." Pullen, Jr., her half-brother James William "Jimmy" Reichert and her beloved husband Lou Ridolfi in 2014. Marge leaves behind her children: Sandra (& Howard) Hennessey, Larry (& Gail) Ridolfi, and Susan Wilson; her grandchildren: Chad (& Jennifer) Peterman, Maria Bologna (& Kevin), Kathleen (& Jim) Ingerson, Mark (& Kelly) Ridolfi, James Hennessey (& Samantha), Mike Wilson (& Angel), Ashley (& Chandler) Giddes; her great-grandchildren: Dom (& Eden), Noah, Bella, Brett, Julia, Reagan, Aenerys, London, Cameron, Atlas, Evelyn Paige; and her great-great-grandson: Alden, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, very near and dear to her heart, she leaves behind her roommate, Evelyn Lashley, and the CNAs and Nurses she became very close to at Harborview. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift in her honor to any of the following would be appreciated by the family: Raintree Village (Children's Home), 3757 Johnston Rd., in Valdosta, GA 31601; Thomasville Garden Club, 1102 S. Broad St., Thomasville, GA 31792, or Pebble Hill Plantation (Museum), 1251 U.S. Hwy. 319 S., Thomasville, GA 31792. Funeral arrangements by Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
