Services for Margaret S. Hilliard of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Dawson Street Methodist Church where she was a member. The Rev. Ramon Hernandez and the Rev. Carl Howard will officiate and interment will be in Cairo Cemetery. Mrs. Hilliard died May 19, 2005 at her residence. Born February 19, 1921 in Cairo, GA she was the daughter of the late J. L. and Robbie Strickland. On May 22, 1971 in Thomasville she married James Y. Hilliard who survives. She was retired after 18 years from the Thomas County Tax Commissioners office and was Tax Commissioner for 8 years. Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Mike Borden of Thomasville, stepdaughter, Sherry Hilliard of Alexandria, Virginia, grandsons, Cody Borden and David Borden; great grandson, Bailey Borden and great granddaughter, Karah Borden. A son, Larry Whitfield, a brother, J. L. Strickland, Jr., and first husband William Whitfield preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Dawson Street Methodist Church, 1132 N.
