Marie Ferguson Jackson

Graveside services for Marie Ferguson Jackson, 88, of Thomasville are 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Wills will officiate. Mrs. Jackson passed away November 18, 2011 at Archbold Hospital. Born March 24, 1923 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Chester Ferguson and Grace Miller Ferguson. She left home at 17 and moved to Seattle, WA. Later she moved to Washington, D. C., where she met her late husband, Robert L. Jackson, Jr. They moved to Thomasville, where she raised her family on a family farm. Mrs. Jackson was a member of First United Methodist Church, was a Pink Lady at Archbold Hospital, was a Hospice volunteer and a member of the Briarcliff Garden Club. She retired from Southwestern State Hospital. Survivors include children, Gary Jackson of Ochlocknee, Randall Jackson and wife Kathy of Leary, Donald Jackson of Cairo, Christopher Jackson of Thomasville; daughters-in-law, Vicki Jackson of Cairo and Sandra Jackson of Albany; grandchildren, Allen Jackson, Stephen Jackson, Amanda Jackson, Eric Jackson, Valerie Player, Casey Lawrence, Stephanie Knisely and Neal Jackson; great grandchildren, Victoria Lawrence, Peyton Lawrence, Ciara Ames, Savannah Knisely and Alyssa Knisely and several nieces and nephews.
