Services for Marie G. Parrish of Pavo, are at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Pavo Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Harris will officiate and interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Parrish died September 13, 2005 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born June 25, 1918 in Thomas Co., GA she was the daughter of the late James Bennett and Mary Spence Giles. On July 27, 1943 in Ochlocknee she married Cliff W. Parrish who preceded her in death. Mrs. Parrish taught school in Pavo, worked as a secretary, was a homemaker and mother and wrote a column for Thomasville Times Enterprise for a number of years. She taught an adult Sunday school class at Pavo Baptist Church where she was a member for a number of years. She was the director of the Woman?s Missionary Union, served in other positions in WMU and served on the Thomas County Association WMU council for 35 years. She was a member of the Pavo Woman?s Club for 56 years, and was always interested in the betterment of the Pavo community and served on various committees to help the town. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Renee Parrish, Greg and Mimi Parrish; five grandsons, Bret and Candy Parrish, Brook and Beth Parrish, Cole and Heather Parrish, Nolen Parrish and Blake Parrish; three great grandsons, Cody and Chase Parrish and Tracer Parrish, one great granddaughter, Hailey Marie Parrish all of Pavo; daughter-in-law, Frances Parrish of St. Louis, Mo and ex-daughter-in-law, Sandra Parrish of Pavo; sisters, Clara McCrory of Thomasville and Mary Bennett Smith of Statesboro, GA ; brother, O.C. Giles of Ochlocknee; sisters-in-law, Ann Giles of Ochlocknee, Connie Giles of Albany, Jean O. Parrish of Pavo and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Cliff W. Kiff Parrish and two brothers, Gordon Giles and Paul Giles. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8PM on Wednesday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
