Mariella Wilcox Anderson

Funeral services for Mariella (Mary) W. Anderson, 88, of Thomasville will be 3:00PM, Friday, April 29, 2016 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Greg Souders will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Anderson passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2016. She was born June 26, 1927 in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Mariella (Mary) Wilcox Anderson, was the wife of the late Clyde E. Anderson (Andy) and the daughter of the late Lee Roy Wilcox, Sr. and Amanda Watkins Wilcox and sister to the late Lee Roy Wilcox, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Donna Anderson Duren, Wendy Anderson Johnson, and Tracy Anderson Long. She has seven grandchildren Mandy Duren McKee, Kelly Cooper Ellis, Lori Cooper Souders, Joshua Long, Jessica Long, Jeremy Johnson and Jennifer Johnson Womble, and six great grandchildren Meagan McKee, Andrew McKee, Mallory McKee, Bradley Johnson, Madelyn Johnson and Henry Womble. Mrs. Anderson was a former Girl Scout Leader, member of the Garden Club, and a member of Morningside Methodist Church. She loved kids and had kept many in her home. Her life was centered around her family and was a living example of a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother to them all and extended family.
