Services for Marigene Stringer Adams of Thomasville are at 11:30AM on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor, the Rev. Bob Dixon, the Rev. Weymon Cleveland will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Adams died April 12, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born March 5, 1920 in Grady Co., GA she was the daughter of the late Jesse Dillard and Edna Barineau Stringer. On August 11, 1940 at the Ochlocknee Methodist Church she married Herbert Wayne Adams who preceded her in death. Mrs. Adams was a caseworker for the Thomas County Department of Family and Children?s Services. She was 1937 graduate of Thomasville High School and Georgia State Women?s College in Valdosta. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 77 years. A longtime member of the United Methodist Women?s Circle #1, the Keenagers and a charter member of the Sue McTier Sunday School Class. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Thomasville Garden Club and the South Georgia Genealogical Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and needlework, genealogy, reading, canning and cake decorating. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Philip H. and Terri Adams of Tallahassee, FL, daughters and sons-in-law, Janice F. Adams and Tim Shearon of Caldwell, ID, Shirley Ruth and Frank Holleman of Duluth, GA; sister-in-law, Trixie Stringer of Kingsport, TN, sister and brother-in-law, Anne Stringer and Chuck Larcom of Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Patrick and Diane Rutherford, Mason and Christan Adams, Ryan Adams, Jesse Adams, Sadie Adams & Tracy Harris, John Holleman, Jeffrey Holleman, Joshua Holleman, Jacob Holleman and great granddaughter, Cortney Rutherford. Brothers, Charles Stringer and Wendell Stringer and sister, Jennilou Stringer, preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 975, Thomasville, GA 31799 or to the Presbyterian Nursing Home, P.O. Box 407, Quitman, GA 31643. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Friday at the funeral home.
