A memorial service for Marijean Allsopp Eilers, 82, of Thomasville, will be 4:00 pm, Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. Thomas Episcapol Church. The Rev. Judy Jones will officiate. Interment will be at All Saints Episcopal Church columbarium in Lakeland, Fl. Mrs. Eilers died May 7, 2009 at Archbold Hospital. Born May 26, 1926 in Orlando, Fl, she was the daughter of the late Mabel & Howard Allsopp. She grew up in Lakeland, Fl and graduated from Wesleyan College, Macon Ga with a double major in psychology/social work. She worked for the Florida dept of Welfare in the 1960 s and moved to Chicago, Ill, where she was a social worker for over 20 years at Clearbrook Center, a rehabilitation facility for handicapped individuals. Following the death of her husband, Ralph, Mrs. Eilers moved to Thomasville in 1999 and resided at Southern Pines Retirement Community. She was at one time active in the Thomasville Duplicate Bridge Club; a charter member of Chapter BJ, P.E.O. Sisterhood; a member of the Red Hat/Purple Dress Club; and a former member of the Thomasville Woman s Club and a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Survivors include daughter, Carol Bacon Kelso of Thomasville, daughter-in-law, Joan Bacon of Wallkill, NY; grandson and wife, Jared & Mandy Kelso of Atlanta; granddaughters and husbands, Rachel & Seth Dozier of Tifton, and Anna & James Pettis of Macon, Ga; great granddaughters, Mea Kelso and Lily Kelso and great grandson, Ezra Kelso. Her son, Rick Bacon preceded her in death. Guests may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
