Marion Jordan Bush

Graveside services for Marion Jordan Bush, Sr., age 65 of Thomasville, will be Saturday July 13 at 10:00 AM on Kentucky Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bush died on July 11, 2002 at his residence. The son of M. B. and Ethel Jordan Bush, he was born on April 16, 1937 in Albany, Ga. In 1961 he married Emily McBride Bush. Mr. Bush was the owner of Modern Cleaners and Laundry, Inc. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville. Mr. Bush was a 1955 graduate of Thomasville High School, where he was an outstanding athlete having earned 14 letters. He was selected to the All Southern Team in football and was selected second team high school All-American. Mr. Bush attended the University of Georgia, where he played football. In 1995, he was inducted into the Thomasville Thomas County Sports Hall of Fame. He also served in the United States Army. Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Emily Inky McBride Bush of Thomasville, a daughter Karen Bush of Switzerland, 3 sons, Marion Bush, Jr. of Orlando, Fl and George Bush of Thomasville, and Glenn and daughter-in-law, Allyson Bush of Thomasville. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Parker and Ryan Bush, and Walker and Jordan Bush, all of Thomasville. A brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. & Carolyn Bush of Atlanta also survive.
