Services for Marion Morgan Strickland of Thomasville are 4:30PM on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. Elder Phillip Howell will officiate and interment will be at Sunnyside Baptist Church Cemetery in Sunnyside, GA., on Sunday, January 26, 2003 at 2:00PM. Mr. Strickland died January 23, 2003 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born April 11, 1922, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Fannie Martin Strickland. He was married to the late Vera Harris Strickland. Mr. Strickland retired from the U. S. Navy after more than 20 years of military service, which included active duty during WWII and the Korean War. He was also retired from the Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, and the Houston County School System. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Morgan and Shirley Strickland of Ochlocknee, daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Thomas Neil Miller of Thomasville, son, Ronald E. Strickland of Franklin, NC., stepson and daughter-in-law, Emory, Sr., & Kay Putman, of St. Augustine, Fl., stepdaughter and son-in-law, Diane and Michael McCall of Tuskegee, AL., and stepson-in-law, Pete Cannon of Jacksonville, Fl.; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and eight great step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Allen Strickland and a stepdaughter, Sarah Jane Cannon. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd., Suite 10, Atlanta, Ga. 30345 or to the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church, Barwick, GA.
