Memorial services for Marion Evelyn Schneider of Thomasville will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday May 6, 2017 in the Southern Pines Senior Living Chapel with Dr. Timothy Filston officiating. Mrs. Schneider passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at Southern Pines Senior Living. Born on January 8, 1933 in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Archibold Whitesell and Evelyn Dolce Whitesell. Marion received her RN degree in 1954 and married Alfred Louis Schneider Jr. in Rahway, N.J. They were married to for 63 years prior to her death. She spent many years caring for patients in both private and institutional nursing. Later Marion was a business owner who served the nursing profession. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church Thomasville and enjoyed reading, puzzles, ice cream, dancing, and her dogs. She also enjoyed traveling with her loving husband all over the country in their motor home, where they encountered and made many friends. By far though, her greatest interest was her husband and five boys who she faithfully loved and supported in all their endeavors. Surviving is her husband Alfred Louis Schneider Jr. of Thomasville; sons and daughters-in-law Steven Louis and Monica Schneider of Ocala, Fl., Alan Edward and Karen Schneider of Pumpkintown, SC, Glenn Thomas and Andrea Schneider of Cape Girardeau, Mo, and Jeffrey Scott and Paulette Schneider of Jacksonville Beach, Fl; grandchildren Eric, Alexis, Maggie, April, Alex, Sarah, and Becky; four great grandchildren; brother Robert Whitesell of Scranton, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James Whitesell.
