Marion Lee Wood Sr

Services for Marion Lee Wood, Sr, 86 of Thomasville will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, October 23 at East Side Baptist Church. Rev. Tim Robson will officiate and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Wood passed away October 20 at his residence. Born December 2, 1927 in Ridgeway, SC, he was the son of the late M.T. Wood and Sally Holley Wood. On August 16, 1948 he married Jean Farlow Wood who survives. Mr. Wood was a life time watch maker who owned and operated Holley-Wood Jewelers since 1960. He loved boating, skiing and spending time with his family. He was a former member of First Baptist Church and the Jaycees. Other survivors include his children, Joey T Wood and wife Brenda and Tony Wood all of Thomasville and Tracy M. Wood of Ramseur, NC; grandchildren, Kimberly W. Davis and husband Curtis, Leann W. Hamilton and husband Jeremy all of Thomasville and Jamie Baker of Tallahassee; great-grandchildren, William Lee Davis (Will), Trey Higginbotham and Madison Higginbotham; daughter-in-law, Maggie Wood of Pavo and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by sons, Marion Lee Wood, Jr and Michael Holley Wood. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm, Wednesday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
