Services for Marjorie Merritt Cooper Cumbest, 87, of Perry, FL will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Jimmy Voyles will officiate. Mrs. Cumbest died on January 3, 2014. Born November 17, 1926 in Center Hill, FL, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Merritt and Ada Strickland. She was married to Austin Cumbest who preceded her in death. She was retired from Warner’s where she worked in sales. During WWII, she worked in Mobile, AL in the shipyard as an Electrician’s Helper. Survivors include daughter Janice Cooper Brinson of Whigham, GA, daughter and son-in-law Susan Cooper and Lyndall Knight of Thomasville; son Charles M. Cooper Jr. of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren Gregory Alan and Shannon Voyles of Hahira, GA, Amy Voyles and Scott Key of Huntsville, AL, Patrick B. and Brandi Cooper of Thomasville, GA, Matthew C. and Priscilla Cooper of Thomasville, GA; 5 great-grandchildren; beloved care giver David Smith of Perry, Fl; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her brother J.C. and Barbara Merritt of Titisville, Fl; sister, Alice Rogers of Claxton, GA. She is preceded in death by her Sister Betty M. Cooper.
