Marjorie Willis Jones

March 17, 1943 — July 3, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Willis Jones, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born on March 17, 1943, in Thomasville, GA, Marjorie peacefully passed away on July 3, 2024, in her home after bravely battling an extended illness. A graveside service will be held 11am Saturday July 6, 2024 in Laurel Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Clanton and Pastor Buddy Whatley officiating.

Margie, the daughter of the late Guy and Margaret Willis, held family close to her heart, embodying compassion and care as she dedicated herself to caring for numerous family members. She was a pillar of strength in her community and a cherished member of Dawson Street Methodist Church. Margie found joy in simple pleasures, whether it be in her culinary creations, her mastery of quilting and sewing, or her love for nature as she tended to her yard and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the outdoors from her porch. She was also a member of the UDC.

Throughout her life, Margie found fulfilment in service, including a distinguished tenure of 50 years in the Thomas County elections, for which she was honored by the Georgia Secretary of State. Even after this recognition, her dedication shone through as she continued her work for an additional decade.

Margie is survived by her devoted spouse, Oliver Jones, her children Kay Jones McCullers (Mike) of Jacksonville, Fl, Steven Jones (Trista) of Thomasville, and Angie Jones (Marcie) of Pensacola, Fl, her beloved grandchildren Peyton and Taylor McCullers, Riley and Grayson Jones, and her great-grandchild Ansley McCullers. She is also survived by her sister-in-law's Elaine Booker (Randy) and Beth Norris (Brent), brother-in-law's Randy Jones (Elaine) and Clayton Mims, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by sisters Sue Willis Cleveland and Carolyn Willis Mims, brother Edward Willis and brother in law James Cleveland. Visitation will be held Friday July 5, 2024 from 5-7pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
