Services for Mark D. Day, 50, of Thomasville are 11 a.m., Tues., Feb. 3, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. The Rev. James E. Day will officiate. Mr. Day died Jan. 30 at his residence. Born June 20, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of Jessie Day who survives and the late Marlene Ranniger Day. On July 23, 1983, here in Thomasville, he married Linda Luckie Day, who survives. He was a 1976 graduate of Central High School, a 1979 graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a 1982 graduate of Georgia Southern University, member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, won the Greek Man of the Year award, member of Thomasville Jaycees, won the Jaycee Man of the Year award, member of Thomasville Exchange Club and was the former owner of Days Marine in Thomasville. He was a Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Chancel Choir. Other survivors include sons, William Ranniger "Rann" Day and Charles "McKinley" Day both of Thomasville; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse M. and Susan Day of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Seva C. and Byron May of Shreveport, LA; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. James E. and Sherri Day of Chester, VA; step-mother, Judy Day of Thomasville; stepbrother, Brian McWaters of Thomasville; one niece; 7 nephews; one great nephew.
