Graveside services for Marshall Junior Newsome, 45, of Pavo, are at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at Enon Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Harris will officiate. Mr. Newsome died Jan. 2 at his residence. Pallbearers are Kenny Bennett, Wayne Hitt, Jimmy Carver, Gene Benton, Allen Baker, Bobby Cooper, Van Smith and Doug Alligood. Honorary Pallbearers are Timmy Cooper, Bret Bennett, Johnny McMullen, Herbert DeSearcy, Jr Brack and Bill Owens. Born May 14, 1962, in Colquitt County, he was the son of the late Sampson Junior and Shirley C. Martin Newsome. On July 4, 1980, in Brooks County, he married Tammie Crosby Newsome, who survives. He was a mechanic for Green South. Survivors include son, Michael Newsome of Pavo; daughter, Brandie Newsome of Pavo; sisters, Edna Newsome of Moultrie, Becky Wilder of Moultrie, Sheila Wilder of Kansas and Michelle Welch of Thomasville; brothers, George Griffin of Moultrie and Sammy Newsome of Pavo. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
