Martha Dean (Clark) Dykes, 86, died at her home in Pelham, Georgia on October 1, 2021.
She was born on May 1, 1935 to the late Matthew and Mary (Wilson) Clark in Meigs, Georgia.
Ms. Martha, as she was affectionately known, became a dedicated baptized Jehovah’s Witness on October 21, 1991 in Tampa Florida. She relocated to Pelham, Georgia in 1994 and became a part of the Pelham Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses to continue her walk of faith with Jehovah God for almost 30 years.
Although she endured a myriad of health issues, her faith and service to Jehovah never wavered.
All who knew her knew of her devotion and love to preach and teach the Good News of God’s Kingdom.
She graduated from Lincoln-Brown High School in 1954 and relocated to Miami, Florida where she continued her education obtaining: Certification in Electronics in 1967, a degree from Miami-Dade Community College in 1979, and a Teacher’s Certification in early childhood education in 1980.
She was married to Grady Lloyd Dykes who preceded her in death on December 27, 1975.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two beloved daughters, Beate’(Kimio) Ramadhan (North Myrtle Beach, SC) and Ahunna Dykes & (Fiancé) Willie Davis, (Camilla, Ga), 6 Grandchildren, Shanana Lewis, (Dallas, TX), Rodney Bellinger (Dallas, TX), Rashaad Bellinger (Portland, Oregon), Gentaro Ramadhan (Brooklyn, NY), Kenneth Emmanuel Clark (Ocala, FL) Her Dear Sister, Merion Dale, (Tampa, FL) and brother, William (Merdice) Clark (Atlanta, GA). She also leaves behind to mourn a host of loved nieces and nephews, cousins and a special devotion to her many spiritual sisters and brothers of her congregation.
She was predeceased by her son Kenneth James Clark, Grandson, Jonah C. Davis, Sisters Mary Ellen Bradley, Annette Walden, Lucy Nell Samples and brother Jim Clark.
My sister and I would like to express our deepest gratitude and love to the Pelham Congregation for the remarkable hospitality and love shown to us. A special thank you to the Glenn family, the Barfield Family, the Brown Family and the Reese family, we, are forever grateful for your prayers on our behalf and the compassion shown during our most difficult time.
