Services for Martha Ruth Stephenson Howell, 84, of Boston, GA, are at 11:00AM on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Jamey Tucker and Elder Phillip Howell will officiate and interment will be at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Howell died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Plantation Manor. Born November 23, 1927 in Barwick, GA she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joshua and Ruby Strickland Stephenson. She was married for 65 years to James Fulton Howell, Jr. who survives. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and a Avon Representative. Other survivors include, daughter, Joan Howell of Quitman, GA, son and daughter-in-law David and Jean Howell of Chula, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and James Peppers of Barwick, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Pam Howell and Terry and Jan Howell all of Thomasville, GA and daughter, Patricia Howell of Barwick, GA, sister, Sara Hobbs of Quitman, GA, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son James Lawrence Howell and sisters, Emma Jewell Gilmer, Katherine Smith and Agnes Miller. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
