Martha Shelley

Graveside services for Martha Shelley will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday December 22, 2020 in Lebanon Cemetery with her grandson Kevin Hopper officiating. Mrs. Shelley passed away on Saturday December 19, 2020 at her residence. Born on December 15, 1923 in Gay, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Albert Pittman Wyche and Lorena Clark Wyche. In 1946, she graduated from Crawford W. Long Cadet Nursing School as a RN and retired from Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was long time member of Pavo Baptist Church where she enjoyed being active in all services and activities. Mrs. Shelley was married to Dorsey Elwyn Shelley who preceded her in death in 1964. Survivors include her children Wynton Shelley of Pavo, Linda Hopper and husband Tyrone of Boston, Elaine Whitmore and husband Ken of Memphis, TN, Brenda Kaye Caldwell of Pavo; sister Rachel Wyche of Atlanta, Ga.; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Murray Wyche, Sr., and William Albert Wyche, and granddaughter Janet Zeigler.
