Services for Martha Sumner, 74, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Alford will officiate the service. The interment will follow at Salem Church Cemetery. Mrs. Sumner passed away on February 16th, 2019 in Thomasville. She was born on December 10th, 1944 in Cairo, GA, and she was the daughter of the late Alto and Myrtle Mobley. She was married to the late Merle Sumner. Mrs. Sumner worked at Drew Oil Company for over 40 years as a bookkeeper. She had a passion for gardening and flowers. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, when he was playing bluegrass music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and she will be missed dearly. She is survived by a son, Michael Sumner and wife Carolyn of Valdosta; daughters, Carla Milam and husband Todd of Ochlocknee and Christie Allen and husband Jeff of Cairo; grandchildren, Collin Milam, Luke Sumner, Harrison Sumner, and John Thompson Sumner and numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Cheryl Hopkins and husband Dave of Cairo.
