Funeral services for Martha Elizabeth Jones Mims, 90, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Harris, Rev. Robert Clark and Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Mims died August 9, 2007 at her residence. Born August 8, 1917, in Amsterdam, Decatur County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mattie Mae Floyd Jones. She was married to Harry Clayton Mims, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 20, 1974. Mrs. Mims was a school dietician for the Thomas County School System. She was a member of Dawson St. Baptist Church and Ruth Sunday School Class. Survivors include daughter, Sandra M. Cartwright of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha M. and Don McPherson of Vonore, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Harry Clayton and Kathy Mims, Jr. of Leesburg; grandchildren, Kim Brown, Chris Cartwright, Catherine Smith, Cyle Mims, Christy Holt, Faith Pinnell, Jana Bearden, Andrew McPherson and Chris McPherson; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Lewis of Macon; sister-in-law, Carolyn Jones of Macon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dawson St. Baptist Church, 1025 N. Dawson St., Thomasville, Ga. 31792.
