Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Carr, 80, of Thomasville, Georgia will be 11:00AM, Thursday, May 9, 2002 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Danny Thomas, Sr. will officiate. Mrs. Carr passed away Monday, May 6, 2002 in Lakeland, Georgia. Born February 27, 1922 in Colquitt Co., GA., she was the daughter of the late Tommy & Nora Wilder Matthews. On December 10, 1984 in Thomasville she married Wilmer Carson Carr who preceded her in death on December 15, 1991. Mrs. Carr was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include a very special, deeply loved, and devoted niece, Odessa Murphy, sons & daughters-in-law, Phil & Yvonne Youngblood of Valdosta, GA., Keith Kennedy of Cairo, GA., Don & Cathy Carr of Olympia, WA., daughters & sons-in-law, Tammylin & Harold Hatcher of Albany, GA., and Elizabeth Gail Alexander & Jim Noble of Baconton, GA., numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by daughters Linda Youngblood & Barbara Ann Carr. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home from 7-9PM on Wednesday.
