Mary Magdalene Chastain

A funeral service for Mary Hobbs Chastain will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service. The service will be officiated by son Don Chastain, followed by a graveside committal service officiated by grandson Derek Chastain.

Mary Magdalene Hobbs Chastain was born on November 26, 1928, to the late Preston and Fannie Hobbs. She was a member of Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church and was an adult Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Chastain, her daughter Barbara Fielding, grandson Jonathan Myers, granddaughter-in-law Bonnie Chastain, grandson-in-law Greg Johnson, and her siblings; Irving Hobbs, Albert Hobbs, Theron Hobbs, Nell Perkins, and Leroy Hobbs.

Survivors include children Don Chastain (Hollie), Louie Chastain (Cathy), Pam Myers (Randall), and son-in-law David Fielding Sr. (Margaret), grandchildren David Fielding Jr. (Joy), Donna Fielding Freeman, Scott Chastain (Lindsay), Derek Chastain (Julie), Heather Johnson, Nick Chastain (Lindsey), Chris Chastain (Staci), James Myers (Priscilla), Bill Myers (Melanie) followed by numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers are her seven grandsons.
