Mary Elizabeth Blackmon

Mary Elizabeth Betsy Blackmon passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was the daughter of Dr. John A. Blackmon Thomasville, Georgia and Patricia L. Clem Corpus Christi. She was the stepdaughter of Dorian T. Blackmon and Jackson G. Shores, Jr., and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben A. Blackmon and Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Clem. Betsy was born on May 24, 1975 in Durham, North Carolina. She attended Indian Springs School Birmingham, Alabama and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She was employed most recently with several energy companies, and was involved with acquiring land for oil and gas exploration. Betsy was a great lover of animals and rescued many homeless dogs. She is survived by her parents, stepparents, brother John A. Blackmon, II Birmingham, Alabama, an uncle, two nieces and three cousins. A private service will be held at a later date.
