A memorial service for Mary Ellen Quick NeSmith, 81, of Thomasville will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Big Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member. Mrs. NeSmith died on December 24, 2010 at her residence. Born December 15, 1929 in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Snowie Roscoe and Marie Ann Carter Quick. She was married to the late Ira Hulen NeSmtih. Mrs. NeSmith was retired from Southern Bell, where she was a telecommication supervisor. Mrs. NeSmith was a Past President of the Bell South Pioneers, a member of the Red Hat Society, and attended Dillon Road Presbyterian Church. Survivors include sons and daughters in law Charles and Cecilia NeSmith, William Ira and Cheryl Ann NeSmith, Hulen Marshall and Michelle NeSmith and son and life partner, Shane NeSmith and Bryan Dean. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and brothers Billy Quick and Joe Quick of Lynne, FL, Wayne Quick of Floral City, FL and sisters Betty Huber of Otto, NC, Linda Welch of Fletcher, NC, and Daphine Reynolds of Miami, Fl. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Marchant and 2 brothers Jack and Tom Quick. Memorial contributions may be made to Thomas Co.
