A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Frances Davis Kennedy will be held Saturday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomasville First United Methodist Church. Floyd White and the Reverends Ronnie Wills and Marshall Singletary will officiate. A family graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Kennedy passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018. Born June 14, 1925, in Echols County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Elder Lucius Arthur Davis, Sr. and the late Katie Werner Davis. Mrs. Kennedy was married on May 15, 1948 in Waycross, Georgia to David Lewis Kennedy, who preceded her in death. They were blessed with 57 happy years together. Mrs. Kennedy was an active member of Thomasville First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Sue McTier Sunday School class. She served on the Altar Guild, on the Administrative Board, and as a Sunday School teacher. She was also actively involved in United Methodist Women and was recognized by the church’s local unit as a Quiet Disciple. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Countess Vandal Garden Club, serving in various leadership capacities. She was a true southern lady and was beloved by all who knew her. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Kathryn Davis and brothers L. A. Davis, Jr. and William P. (Bill) Davis. She is survived by her children David A. Kennedy (Laura), L. Steve Kennedy (Cheryl), and Kathryn K. Parrish (John), as well as her grandchildren Heath Parrish (Talia), Jared Parrish, Katie Parrish, Caleb Kennedy, and Mitchell Coleman, and her great-grandchildren Eva and Wyatt Parrish. In addition, she is survived by dearest loved ones Glen and Cindy McDuffie, Colin and Jay McDuffie, Will Davis, Gale Hopkins and Beverly Harrison. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thomasville First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 975, Thomasville, Georgia 31799, or to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Allen and Allen Funeral Home. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
