Mary Grace Taylor Ward

Services for Mary Grace Taylor Ward, 87 of Whigham will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 23 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Waller will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky McDowell, Lance Harrison, Frank Ponder, Hal Calhoun, Donnie Wilson and Randy Wood. Mrs. Ward passed away August 20, 2012 at home. Born July12, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Taylor and Sarah Jane Dean Taylor. She was married to the late John Ward in 1944. She was retired from Coats and Clark of America, from Joan Art Mills, Southern Manor and still worked part time in furniture upholstery until the age of 78. She is survived by her children Frances Bracewell Mike, John Buddy Ward, Darlene Davis Travis and Rosalyn West Terry; sisters, Dolly Harwood Allen and Florence Martin; grandchildren, David Glenn Jennifer, Lynn McCarthy Mikey, Fran Hood Donnie, Sheree Harrison Lance, Katie Bracewell, Jody Ward Veronica, Chris Ward, Chris Wert, Dale Ward, Paula Ward and Johnnie Ward; Great grandchildren, Haley McCarthy, Kane Stokes, BreAnne McRae, Trey Hood, Rylee Harrison, Sarah Grace Glenn, John Austin Ward and Jodie Alexzandria Ward. She was preceded in death by son, Robert Troy Ward; grandsons, John Ward III, Cory Wayne McCarthy and Bobby Wert; sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Johnnie Mae Beckwith and brother, Lavon Taylor. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 22 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. The family will be gathering at the home of Darlene & Travis Davis.
