Funeral services for Mary Clark Harris, 92 of Thomasville will be held at 4:00PM, Sunday, August 2 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Harris passed away July 30, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Born October 5, 1922 in Autreyville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jim Clark and Fannie Hill Clark. Mrs. Harris married Walter Harris, who preceded her in death, on July 31, 1937. This July 31 would have been their 78th wedding anniversary. She accepted Jesus Christ as a young lady and brought all of her children to know Him. She was of the Nazarene faith and her family remembers her as an avid visitor for the church. She loved to cook and was known for her thin layer chocolate cakes, her chicken & dumplings and was the best biscuit maker in South Georgia. She worked as a spinner at Coats & Clarks for 10 years; a seamstress at Warner’s for 8 years and a department manager for Belk’s for 27 years. She is survived by daughter, Laverne Dillard and husband Bruce of Thomasville and Son, Morris Harris and wife Vicki of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter-in-law, Beverly Harris of Thomasville; brother, Eugene “Gene” Clark of Moultrie; grandchildren, Doris Mediate and husband Dale of Thomasville, Julie Wimberly and husband Kevin of Moultrie, Kimberly Nix and husband Kealon of Thomasville, Rebecca White and husband Ramsey of Tallahassee and Marsha Turley and husband Tanner of Medford, Massachusetts; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children, Carroll Harris and Joey Harris and sister, Flora Taylor. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Redemption Hill Church P.O. Box 482 Medford Massachusetts 02155. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3:00-4:00 pm, before the service.
