Services for Mary Holder Edwards, 77, of Thomasville are 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Ken Burgess, Rev. Tim Robison and Rev. Greg Souders will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Edwards passed away May 20, 2011 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born September 18, 1933 in Cook County, she was the daughter of the late Troy Holder and Samantha Bennett Holder. On July 15, 1967 in Greenville, NC she was married to James O. Edwards who preceded her in death. Mrs. Edwards worked at Rayann's Christian Bookstore and The Hair Cottage. Survivors include children, Brenda Adam and husband Lew of Merritt Island, Fl, Charles Nathan Buddy Martin and wife Patti of Crystal River, Fl, Jerry Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Tami Runyon and husband Mike of Thomasville and adopted son, Philip Askenback of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, adopted daughter, Phyllis Hiers of Thomasville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Filhart, Erin Martin, Carley Martin, Kyle Martin, William Rudd, Ashley Rudd; great grandchildren, Keith Filhart, Jessica Filhart, Haley Rudd, Samantha Rudd, Jayden Martin; sister, Ann Council and husband Ray of Thomasville. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 2361, Thomasville, Ga 31799. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
