Funeral services for Mary Jordan Hampton, 77, of Pavo, will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church, where she was a member. Pastor Harold Thomaston, Pastor Ken Burgess and Pastor Kelvin Spurlock will officiate and internment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Hart, Bobby Hart, Eddie Redding, Stanley Gailey, Carroll Fort, Jr., Herbert Hart and Frank Burgess. Mrs. Hampton died on August 15 at her home. Born November 20, 1934, in Montgomery, Al, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt Jordan and Mary Melissa Griffin Jordan. She was married to the late William Vander Hampton for 44 years. Mrs. Hampton was retired from Warner's after 46 years, was a WMU Director for 34 years and taught Sunday school. The most important thing in her life was God, church and family. Survivors include daughter Brenda Richards and husband Scotty; sons David Hampton and wife Cassie, and Tim Hampton all of Pavo; Grandchildren Rayna Newsome and husband Michael; Step-Grandchildren Daniel Richards, Heather Clark and husband Robert, Scott Burgess, Dalton Burgess, and Hunter Burgess; 5 step-great grandchildren; sisters Naomi Cox and husband Carlese and Jane Rogers; brothers J.L. Jordan and wife Anne and Ernest Jordan and wife Ann. She was preceded in death by three children who died at birth and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Calin Hampton. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114 A. Mimosa Dr, Thomasville, Ga 31792 or Antioch Baptist Church, 632 Antioch Church Rd, Pavo, Ga 31778.
