Services for Mary Leah Powell Mills, 97, formerly of Thomasville are 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burns Willis will officiate and interment is in Roseland Cemetery in Monticello, Fla. Mrs. Mills died on Sept. 18 in Elberton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Johnson County, Ga. on April 26, 1913, to the late Samps L. and Leah Bell Greenway Powell. Mrs. Mills was a retired educator and taught in Johnson County and Thomas County Schools. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Bryan Mills, Sr. and Margarite Dibble Mills of Charleston, S.C.; daughters, Ann Mills Eisler of Carlton, Ga. and Mary Lynn Mills Winship of Dahlonega, Ga. granddaughter, Elizabeth Hayden Mills and fiancé, Stephen Pollack of Asheville, NC; grandson, Daniel Bryan Mills, Jr of Charleston, SC; sister, Linnie Powell Lynn of Americus and numerous nieces and nephews.
