Mary Lou Parramore
Services for Mary Lou Parramore, 98, of Coolidge, are at 3:00PM, Monday, November 9, 2009 at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Tommy Kinchen will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Mickey Dickerson, Neel Parramore, Jerry Hubbard, Kipling Bowman, Robert Parramore and Troy Holland. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons and great-grandsons. Mrs. Parramore died Nov. 6 at her residence. Born, October 25, 1911, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Annie Melvin Helms. On Jan. 3, 1927, she married Emmett Neel Bill Parramore, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Parramore was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of First Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Thomasville Garden Club and Thomas County Demonstration Club and won the State Dress Review in 1961. Survivors include children, Lillian Dickerson and husband, Ira of Athens, Lucille Hubbard and husband, Kenneth of Thomasville, Margie Anne Bowman and husband, Oliver of Charleston, South Carolina, Wayne Parramore and wife, Wanda of Coolidge and Darlene Holland of Panama City Beach, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren; sister, Nannie Mae Kirkland of Auburndale, Fla.; sister-in-law, Mary Helms of Dandridge, Tenn. She was preceded in death by son, Maurice Parramore; brothers, Henry Helms and George Helms; step-mother, Eva Helms. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 412 1st Street SE, Moultrie, GA 31768 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
