Mary Lois Nelson

Graveside service for Mary Lois Nelson will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Ausburn officiating. Lois (Johnson) Nelson passed away on December 6, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Cairo on October 17, 1932, a daughter to the late George and Lilla Mae Johnson. Lois was a supervisor for ITT in Cairo for many years. She enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, as well as quilting. Lois was a giver and had a huge heart. She loved handing out her oranges from her backyard. Lois is survived by her children Elaine Harrison, Warren (Donna) Nelson, and Gary (Tamela) Nelson; grandchildren Richard Nelson and Dr. Lonnie (Michelle) Harrison; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Lilla Mae Johnson, husband Wendell Nelson, son-in-law Lowell Harrison, and her siblings.
