Funeral services for Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Gardner Nichols will be held Monday, July 20, 2020 at Big Creek Baptist Church, 20627 US HWY 319 N, Coolidge, GA. Visitation will be held at 10 AM prior to the service. Interment will be held at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackie passed away July 16, 2020, in Tallahassee, FL at 89 years old. Born September 9, 1930, she was the daughter to the late Homer and Valerie Gardner of Coolidge, GA. She married Virgil "Nick" Nichols on September 27, 1952. Jackie was a long time resident of Coolidge and Thomasville, GA, and moved to Tallahassee, FL in 1962. She was a homemaker, school volunteer, and gardener. She also loved to sew, read, and watch romance movies. A woman of Baptist faith, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. She is survived by her children, Linda Sinnott (Edward) of Monticello, FL, Freddie Nichols (Connie), of Longmont, CO, and Sharon Wissert (Chris) of Central FL; grandchildren Christina Hackett, Jason Sinnott, Elizabeth Sinnott, Keith Nichols, Valerie Nichols, and Ericka Dalton; and great-grandchildren Gabrielle Moore, Alexandra Moore, Nicholas Sinnott, Emma Nichols, Maia, and Josephine Dalton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Virgil "Nick" Nichols, and her five brothers George Gardner, Terry Gardner, Jake Gardner, Neal Gardner, and Nolan Gardner.
