Mary "Sue" Perry

Mary Suzanne "Sue" Perry, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home under hospice care on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Sue was born on June 9, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the eldest of 11 children born to William and Theresa Buchholz and was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kathleen Santana.

Sue attended St. Francis University in Joliet, Illinois. A devoted wife, mother, and woman of faith, Sue dedicated her life to raising her four daughters and serving the Catholic Church. Her many contributions included co-founding a Catholic school in Ottumwa, Iowa, serving on multiple school boards, teaching catechism, and ministering as a eucharistic minister. She was especially passionate about the right to life and advocating for children with special needs through her work in special education.

Sue shared 57 loving years of marriage with her husband, Rodney "Rod" Perry. Together they raised four daughters: Stephanie (Jason) Thomas, Christina (Jeff Steimel) Robinson, Catherine (Al) Beguin, and Jennifer (Trent) Rozinek. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Saint Augustine Church in Thomasville, Georgia.
