Mary Ellen Redfearn

Graveside services for Mary Ellen Stowe Redfearn will be Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Ellen entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, January 5 at Archbold Medical Center. She was born February 17, 1939 in Thomasville to the late Alvin Harris Stowe and Willodene Mallard Stowe. She was the beloved sister to the late Betty Stowe Oglesby Morey and Patricia Anne Stowe Leberiaga.

Ellen graduated from Thomasville High School in 1956. On September 12, 1959, She married Sgt. Irie Lee Redfearn, USMC, who preceded her in death. They enjoyed 35 years together, raised two sons and were members of First Baptist Church of Thomasville. Ellen was deeply cherished by her family, who describe her as being kind, gentle, and pure of heart.

Survivors include sons Michael Redfearn (Julie) of Thomasville and David Redfearn (Chris) of Thomasville, granddaughter Kristen Redfearn Sawyer (Travis) of Dawson, GA, grandson Alvin Harris Redfearn (Tiffany) of Mobile, AL, and great grandsons David and Alex Sawyer.
