Mary B. Strickland, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of the Thomasville community, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 22, 1931, in Moultrie, Georgia, to her loving parents, the late William Levi Bridges and Ida Walters Bridges.
Throughout her life, Mary dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. As a devoted wife to her late husband Ralph Strickland, she exemplified unwavering love and commitment. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories.
Mary's thriving life as a homemaker allowed her to pour her heart and soul into caring for her family. Her love and nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, including her son, Troy Strickland; daughter-in-law, Janice W. Strickland (Terry-deceased) and her treasured grandchildren, Mary Anne Sherman and Michael Strickland. She found immense joy in the presence of her great-grandchildren, David Strickland and Rhett Strickland, who brought endless smiles to her face.
Born and raised in Georgia, Mary developed a deep connection to her community. She was a former member of Westside Baptist Church, where her warm spirit and kind demeanor touched the lives of those around her. Her unparalleled generosity knew no bounds, as she lovingly gave her time and support to those in need. Her compassionate nature and ability to make everyone feel loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary now joins her beloved husband Ralph and her son Terry Strickland, who preceded her in death. She is reunited with her siblings Vera Dell Bridges, William Marven Bridges, Edward Olin Bridges, and Floyd Randolph Bridges.
To honor and pay tribute to Mary's well-lived life, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 26, 2023, on Tennessee Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Family, and friends, are invited to come and celebrate her life, sharing their cherished memories.
