Mary Eunice Taylor, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, in Ochlocknee, Georgia, at the age of 86. Born on August 25, 1940, in Washington, DC, Mary was a proud Marylander at heart, known for her love of crab cakes and the warmth of her spirit.

As a dedicated homemaker and a full-time mother, Mary poured her heart into raising her four daughters: Deborah Lynn Gabriel (Patrick), Diana Lee Lapoire (Mark), Rebecca Caroline Arnold (Michael), and Bethany Anne Hume (Adam). Mary was a seamstress and an avid reader.

Her love extended fiercely and unconditionally to her grandchildren-Damien Taylor Williams, Chelsea Taylor Kehne, James Howard Arnold, and Taylor Mae Berg (Alex)-and her three great-grandchildren: Jayce Linn Arnold, Gaven Taylor Hume, and Isla Mae Berg. She was always there for family and friends in times of need, sharing laughter and nurturing those she loved, especially while cheering on her husband, James Garfield Taylor Jr., as he played guitar and sang.

Mary will be remembered for her kind heart, resilience, and ability to light up a room with her presence. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents, Cecil Jefferson Sr. and Rebecca Mae Duley Cubitt, and is survived by her brothers Cecil Jefferson Rowe Jr. (Irma) and Ronald William Cubitt (Linda).

The family will announce the funeral services and ceremonies to celebrate Mary's life, inviting all who knew and loved her to join in honoring her memory. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
